Two or three of you have recently written that you can’t get the whole JWN front page when using the upgraded IE browser, which I guess is IE-7. I don’t know what to suggest you might do. I vaguely recall a while back some readers had a similar problem with IE, and other readers suggested a fix for it. All I can suggest is to steer clear of IE and use Firefox, my own browser of choice.
If anyone else has suggestions, please post them as a comment here. Thanks!

Good workaround suggestion T-. H-, to clarify the problem further (and it’s indeed much worse than previously), jwn via internet explorer appears at first to load the left column (with the articles), but then that “disappears” leaving ie readers with a very short item on the left, a lot of “blank” space, and then a full “right” column.
As you note, Firefox nicely loads the full jwn web site with no problem. I don’t encounter this ie problem with any of the many other web sites I visit….? Happening to others elsewhere?
Certain interactive applications appear to be configured exclusively for IE, so it is necessary to have one on board, but aside from that I can’t see any reason for using it. Firefox is excellent and its “older brother”, Mozilla Seamonkey is a very complimentary browser to Firefox as it also has a program for doing research. I use both.
Sorry! typo trouble. What I meant to say is that Mozilla Seamonkey is a very complimentary browser to Firefox as it also has a program for writing HTML and it is also a bit more efficient than Firefox doing research.
As I recall from another website that had the same issue, pressing one of the F keys twice is a good workaround. I believe it is F12. I use FireFox and don’t have IE 7, so can’t test it. Give it a try and let me know which F key it is.
