  1. This whole disaster, and how FEMA responded, is sad beyond belief. I felt real deep dread the night before the elections last November, but I never anticipated things getting this bad.
    and wind, you are right: It is a very sad decade in America.
    I think they need to put Mr. Witt back in charge of FEMA, disband Homeland Security, and put FEMA back in charge of everything in the Katrina disaster zone.
    This whole situation is beyond unbelievable. I never thought the Bush & Cheney administration would treat our own people so badly.

  2. This is the era of the corporations. The corporations is the only citizen that matters. Even if another president was elected, things will not be as bad but still corporations will get their way at the expense of the poor. The status of blacks in the south is not due to the last five years. The minorities in the US are not well represented. If we use the same ethnic formula as that of Iraq, blacks and other minorities would deserve much more representation.
    I think what we are seeing in NO is a microsm of the world at large. The poor always suffer whether in US, Iraq or elsewhere.
