Testimonies from Gaza children

aired recently by ‘Dispatches’ on Britain’s Channel 4. 48 minutes of very straightforward testimonies from some of Gaza’s child survivors themselves.
Appreciation to Channel 4 for airing this. And it’ll get shown on U.S. t.v. when??

  1. Robert Fisk recently wrote:
“the most prominent characteristic of all post-colonial independent states is their ability, willingness and even desire to imitate their oppressors.”
So its not just nobody me that’s noticed this kind of thing. Surely it doesn’t take a genius to join the dots and go further and see Fisk’s colonial observation is a actually subset of a more general observation that there is a tendency for all oppressed and abused victims to imitate their oppressors.
This is why socially most abusers were once victims themselves in a cycle of abuse. In hostage situations we are now used to experts talking about ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ where hostages find themselves identifying with their guards. And in torture victims of torture are at risk of perpetuating behaviour learned from their torturers onto their children… the list goes on and on…
Yet their is an unwillingness to face up to the fact that the policies of Zionism against the Palestinians from the early days of ethnic cleansing and the ruthless militarism are essentially copied from their Nazi tormentors…
It is not name calling to identify a behaviour or symptom. There is a world of difference between identifying Nazi-like behaviour and calling someone a Nazi which might be absurd. Surely it is essential to diagnose the cause if we are to address a cure. Otherwise we are complicit in mere spectating and vanity.
    My 2 cents.
